I am so excited for Picnic Playhouse 2021!
Each year the youth group hosts a fundraiser event where people sing songs, tell jokes, share poetry, and more! It is a night of entertainment along with a pasta dinner. Traditionally we call it "Pasta Playhouse", but this year we have decided to host the event outside on the church lawn for a church wide picnic. We will provide the entertainment, but this year we are asking you to bring your favorite picnic meal. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a meal, due to safety concerns.
In the past, part of the ticket sales covered the cost of the meal, but this year100% of the ticket sales go directly to the Youth Group International Mission Trip Fund.
Money raised at Picnic Playhouse goes towards the Youth International Mission Trip. Every three years, our high school students go on an international mission trip and learn about the work that missionaries are doing throughout the world. Last trip, in 2019, the youth went to Bucharest, Romania and worked along side the RUTH School, that educates and provides essential resources for the Roma population. Our youth had an amazing experience and we are planning another international mission trip next year in 2022.
One of my favorite parts about this fundraiser is watching multiple generations within our church community participate in the show and/or attend the fundraiser. It's a special time where our youth can physically see the number of people that care about them.
So mark your calendars for Picnic Playhouse 2021.
It will be Sunday, June 27 at 5pm.
