Why Membership?
Membership is a way of saying, "I choose KBC. I choose to explore the ways of God alongside these people as we worship, learn and fellowship."
We are created to be in relationship with God and one another. Membership is an intentional choice to walk your path of spiritual transformation with fellow travelers.
Membership is also a way of saying, "I choose to work with these people." Ephesians 4:6 says, "From the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." The imagery of the parts of the body each doing their own work means that all kinds of people with all kinds of gifts and skills and points of view and strengths are not only desired but needed.
Additionally, membership means I want to have a voice in the direction of this group. I want to be part of determining what we do and how we do it.

Becoming A Member

When you are interested in becoming a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church, simply email one of the pastoral staff members and they will be happy to discuss details with you. The basic overview is as follows:

-
We do not require anyone to come forward in a worship service to request membership. Instead, we will introduce you at a service of your choosing through an announcement during the Life of the Church and later vote on your membership request at our next Quarterly Business Meeting.
-
If you are requesting baptism, we will announce your request in church and schedule your baptism at a date that works for your schedule.
-
If you are transferring your letter or requesting membership by Statement of Faith, we will announce that as well.

If you have any questions about what membership means or how to become a member, please feel free to contact any of our pastoral staff members.
