Music Ministry

Music is an integral part of the worship at KBC.  The music ministry exists to help provide opportunities for talented individuals to join together in community to share their gifts in making music to the glory of God.  Talented and thoughtful leaders, dedicated participants, and meaningful worship experiences are at the heart of our music ministry.

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary choir offers worship leadership on a weekly basis.  The choir also serves as leaders in several special worship services throughout the year.  The choir strives to build community among its members through common goals, hard work, and just plain fun. Practice is Wednesday night at 7:00 (choir room).

Youth Choir and Hand Bells
The youth choir is an active part of the KBC music ministry.  The playing of bells, leading in worship, and participating in special projects happen on a regular basis.  The rehearsals are a part of the larger Sunday evening schedule with additional youth activities. Practices are Sunday afternoons starting at 4:00 and ending at 5:15.

Children’s Choirs and Handbells
Our children’s choirs feature an educational, activity-based approach including singing, handbells and Orff instruments, along with music and worship education.  These are fun and energetic groups that share in worship leadership and performances.

This wonderful choir of Senior Adults is a very important part of the KBC music ministry.  They provide music for worship services, seasonal performances and take their music on the road! Practice is every Tuesday at 10:00.

The KBC Brass
Beautiful and vibrant brass music is a regular part of worship at KBC.  The group is open to new members who can commit to regular rehearsals. Special ensembles often grow out of this group such as a trumpet choir led by Susan Slaughter. Practice is Wednesday night at 6:00 (sanctuary)

Chancel Ringers
The Chancel Ringers participate in worship on a monthly basis and are looking for additional members that can commit to regular rehearsals.  The group is made up of experienced as well as novice ringers. Basic music reading skills are important to be a part of this group. Practice is Wednesday night at 6:00.

KBC is especially fortunate to have a large number of instrumentalists who participate in worship leadership on a regular basis.  If you would like to share your talents, please contact Rev. Kyle Damron at [email protected] and let us know what you play.  We would love to find an opportunity for you!
