Fall Retreat 2011

EMUL8N X

November 11-13 Another great retreat!.  We had a great time with University Heights Baptist from Springfield as all youth were challenged to understand what it means to take up their cross “daily” and emulate Christ. What happens next?  Well, that’s up to each of us and how determined we are to follow the words of Paul in Ephesians to live a love filled life.

Passport St. Louis We’re excited that Passport Camp is once again coming to St. Louis where, for three weeks, 100 people will be spending 6 hours a day  loving and serving our neighbors.  Please pray for this wonderful ministry within our community.  Passport Camp will take place at Third Baptist Church the weeks of July 11-16, July 18-23, and July 25-30.

Called by the Spirit – The 6 Week Challenge

March 13-April 17During Lent, many Christians focus on ‘giving-up’ something in order to connect to and appreciate the sacrifice Christ made by coming to earth and dying on a cross. For KBC Youth, we encourage our youth to ‘take-on’ the challenge of deepening their relationship with Christ by committing to regular bible study, prayer, and worship for 6 weeks. We know distractions for youth lurk around every corner. However, for these 6 weeks, don’t let Christ get lost among the activities, sports, facebook status updates, and text messages. Put Him at the top of your priority list. This year’s challenge includes

  • Called By the Spirit study Sunday mornings
  • Topical studies Sunday evenings
  • Tithing Competition (6-9 vs 10-12)
  • Weekly text and facebook messages
  • Facebook status challenge

*Reducing the Risk All volunteers and staff who work with minors (birth-age 18) have participated in the “Reducing the Risk” training session and have made commitments and submitted to public records checks to provide the safest possible learning environment for our children.  Additional two hour training events of “Reducing the Risk” published by Christianity Today, will be offered periodically. Over the next few months there will be several training sessions available. The video based training is in its’ third edition. The class time will include discussion facilitated by Rev.
