Adult F Bible Study Class meets Sunday in Room 123 at 9:15am

Adult F Bible study class members seek to learn the biblical worldview, to model it in our daily lives, and to care for one another. We have diverse interests and careers. Younger married couples have a place to share concerns, celebrate the births of their children, and study the scriptures with contemporaries. Single adults and more-experienced adults add rich perspectives to the class discussions. Class parties provide opportunities for fun, food, and fellowship.

Some recent studies include:

• Cracking the Cover: a Beginner's Guide to the Bible—a comfortable, user-friendly way for us to become more familiar with the Bible, and at the same time a way to "stretch" experienced Bible students.
• Who Is Jesus?: The Answer According to the Seven Signs in John's Gospel—a study of the nature and significance of Jesus according to The Gospel of John.
• Spiritual Disciplines—a study of meditation, submission, and guidance using Richard Foster's popular book titled A Celebration of Disciplines.
• Great Stories of the Bible: The Parables of Jesus—a review of the parables of Jesus to learn how Jesus challenges us to see the world and our neighbors differently.
• Reading the Psalms—a reading of different types of psalms and a discussion of their meaning for us today. We even wrote our own psalms!
• Five Mistaken Responses to Adversity—a discussion of the age-old question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" and how we can respond more faithfully to the inevitable adversities of life.
• Homosexuality in the Church: Both Sides of the Debate—a thoughtful, systematic review of this difficult topic by reading and discussing both sides of the debate in a Christian context using Scripture, church tradition, reason, science, and experience. Participants had (and always have) the freedom to draw their own conclusions.
• Jesus - a Way or the Way: Salvation, Non-Christian Religions, and the Unevangelized—a study of religious pluralism that asked and answered questions such as, What are Christians to think about other religions and their adherents? Are their multiple paths to salvation? Where does Jesus fit into all this religious diversity? What about those who have never heard the gospel?
