Programs

Our Youth Choir is an exciting ensemble of young choral singers who explore a wide variety of music including classical choral literature, spitituals, gospel songs, hymn arrangements and multi cultural expressions. This ensemble is open to all interested youth in grades 6 - 12. Reading music is a helpful skill for this ensemble. The youth choir sings regularly in worship and other seasonal programs. Each summer our youth choir goes on tour with our handbell choir and they perform in a variety of settings including churches, nursing homes and hospitals. You are warmly invited to join in this fun filled ensemble. For more information, contact Greg Lundberg.

Our Younger Children's Choir (Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade) is an ensemble that offers children the opportunity to learn the basic concepts of music-making in a safe, fun and enjoyable setting. During rehearsals, children explore the early stages of faith development and develop the fundamentals of music making. Children develop their musical skills through many of the following activities: learning to use their voices through the singing of hymns and traditional songs, movement and musical games, learning and developing a steady beat by playing basic rhythm instruments, nourishing their spiritual lives through Bible stories while learning about the importance of worshiping God. Children in Pre-K through 1st grade are warmly encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Wendy Shaw

Our Older Children's Choir (2nd - 5th grades) expands and deepens their enjoyment of music through singing unison, two and three part singing. Learning more about the worship of God is of primary importance as we sing music that contributes to and forms our children's spiritual lives. In the Older Children's Choir a deeper musical awareness develops as children are involved in the following activities: singing well chosen choral music, experience in ringing handbells, choir chimes and playing Orff instruments. Children are also involved in worship participation where they sing regularly and help lead the congregation with readings and other elements in the services. All interested children are warmly encouraged to participate. For more information, contact Mark or Ginny Lawson
