PASTORAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: Serve as receptionist for the Senior Pastor's Office and administrative assistant to the Senior Pastor.
JOB SUMMARY: Perform general office work in relieving pastor(s) of minor executive and clerical duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receptionist -
1. Receive all telephone calls for the Senior Pastor and screen as directed.
2. Greet persons entering the Senior Pastor's Office and assist in making them feel welcome and comfortable.
3. Maintain Senior Pastor's daily schedule. Schedule appointments as directed.
4. Answer office telephones as needed.
2. Secretary
1. Handle all aspects of Senior Pastor's correspondence.
2. Maintain all files relating to the Senior Pastor's ministry.
3. Under the editorial direction of the Associate Pastor for Students type and mail the Kirkwood Kindler.
4. Set up Baptism and Child Dedications (phone calls, letters, certificates).
5. Type all worship bulletins.
6. Serve as secretary for the Deacons, Church Leadership Council, and other designated committees and organizations. Update Deacon Notebook annually. Prepare New Member Packets as needed.
7. Type wedding programs as instructed.
8. Prepare and mail letters to worship service guests.
9. Prepare and mail letters for members prayed for at weekly staff meeting.
10. Prepare the Midweek Reminder.
11. Perform other secretarial duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Directly responsible to the Senior Pastor as immediate supervisor and the Personnel Committee as representatives of the church body.
2. Responsible for collegial relationship with other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Christian, with an appreciation of Baptist polity.
2. Characterized by integrity and high ethical standards.
3. Extensive computer experience, particularly, word processing, desk top publishing and basic web design.
4. Skilled in general office work and telephone etiquette.
