Through a partnership with the Alliance of Baptists, Kirkwood Baptist Church has developed a mutual relationship of prayer, dialogue, and care with Canaan Baptist Church in Bolivia de Ciego de Avila de Cuba. This sister-church relationship is maintained and made stronger through emails, cards, and visits.

Members of KBC have sent various teams to Cuba under the travel license of the Alliance of Baptists. These teams have collected and donated eye glasses and medical supplies; however, because of the current travel restrictions, the primary focus of these 'mission' teams has been relationship building. Although that focus is different than many typical international mission trips, the impact is far reaching. As one Cuban pastor mentioned to our team on a recent visit, "we are building bridges that someday our governments will walk over."
